<On Korea> Korea’s history spans over 5000 years. Korea started its own bronze and iron civilizations earlier, and achieved outstanding cultural and moral societies for thousands of years. Korean dynasties enjoyed extraordinarily long periods spanning 500-1000 years, due to the ingenious and rational political systems that always respected people's interests and opinion. In fact, Korean dynasties integrated more democratic elements to politics and philosophy than any other dynasty or kingdom around the world. Korea maintained itself a peace-loving country during its entire history: Korea never invaded the neighboring countries. However, when belligerent regimes rose in the neighboring countries, Korean people often suffered from the neighbors' invasions, and yet always succeeded in defeating the invasions, except for a few occasions.
